Mark Nawaqanitawase has sent a clear message to NSW Blues coach Laurie Daley, making a strong case for inclusion in the Origin squad following an outstanding performance in the Roosters’ 38-24 victory over the Knights.
The cross-code sensation bagged a late double at Allianz Stadium, helping the Tricolours secure their third consecutive win.
Despite not having played Origin last season as he adapted to rugby league, Nawaqanitawase did earn a spot representing the Kangaroos.
Following his second try of the day, Blues legend Steve ‘Blocker’ Roach expressed his belief that Nawaqanitawase would be a strong contender for the NSW jersey.

“This is something for the NSW team to ponder; he definitely deserves a look-in,” Roach mentioned on Fox League.
It was a satisfying match for the Roosters overall, though there was a worrying moment as Lindsay Collins was put on report for a dangerous tackle.

The first half at Allianz Stadium was an entertaining contest, with both teams taking the lead at various points.
Newcastle managed to hold a 24-12 advantage at half-time, but the Roosters emerged from the break as a revitalised team.
James Tedesco played a pivotal role in the turnaround, scoring a try in the second half and assisting three others throughout the match.
Both Tedesco and Nawaqanitawase showcased their attacking prowess, racking up 258 and 211 running metres, respectively.
Hugo Savala also got in on the action, adding a double for the Roosters, while Fletcher Hunt completed a hat-trick.
