Liam Rosenior, the manager of Chelsea, shared his thoughts following the team’s 1-0 loss to Manchester United in the Premier League on Saturday night.
With significant protests from fans taking place before the match, Chelsea found themselves in dire need of a victory as they strive for a top-five finish.
Matheus Cunha’s solitary goal in the first half was enough for Manchester United to claim all three points, intensifying the pressure on Rosenior.
This defeat marked Chelsea’s fourth consecutive loss without managing to score a goal, a situation not witnessed by the club since 1998.
“It’s extremely challenging. Today, they only had one shot on target while we were reduced to 10 men,” Rosenior remarked.
“We created numerous attacking opportunities and struck the woodwork, I believe, four times. I don’t want my team to feel as though luck is against us. We must persevere.
“We need to defend that moment more effectively. When we fail to do so, we end up being punished. At this stage, every minor error leads to the ball ending up in our net, and that needs to change.
“It’s all about results, and we didn’t secure the result we should have today. Small details accumulate, but we must continue to work hard.
“I place the most pressure on myself. We simply need to keep collaborating with the staff and players to turn the tide.”
