Bulldogs winger Jacob Kiraz is facing a potential stint on the sidelines after sustaining a knee injury during the clash against the Eels.
The injury occurred in the first half when he was caught between two defenders before Saxon Pryke came in low, making contact with Kiraz’s knees.
Despite having his knee heavily strapped and visibly limping, Kiraz opted to remain on the pitch.
He returned for the second half but was ultimately forced to leave the game. Nine’s Emma Lawrence reported that the injury is suspected to be an MCL strain.
Kiraz wasn’t the only one feeling the effects of a tough Sunday afternoon match.
Parramatta hooker Ryley Smith also didn’t make it back after half-time due to a sternum injury.
This adds to the ongoing injury crisis for the Eels, who are grappling with nine players currently sidelined, including Matt Doorey, J’maine Hopgood, and Bailey Simonsson, all of whom are out for the season.

Matt Burton also faced some difficulties, particularly when Mitchell Moses tackled him, putting his legs in a precarious position.
Burton let out a cry of pain and received medical support but ultimately continued playing.
Kiraz managed to score the first try of the match, but by half-time, the Eels were ahead 18-4, with tries from Josh Addo-Carr, Ronald Volkman, and Joash Papalii.
In the second half, it appeared the Bulldogs might stage a comeback when Lachlan Galvin scored first.
However, tries from Dylan Walker, Tallyn Da Silva, and a penalty goal from Moses extended the lead to 32-10 with eight minutes remaining.
Both teams ended the match strongly, trading tries through Jonathan Sua, Will Penisini, and Bronson Xerri, with the Eels securing a 38-20 victory.
