As South Australia gears up to welcome footy enthusiasts for Gather Round, one player seems less than thrilled about the occasion.
St Kilda forward Jack Higgins took a cheeky jab at Adelaide when discussing his weekend plans.
“I’m not a fan of Adelaide, so I’ll likely just be in my room gaming with the boys on Call of Duty,” he remarked following his team’s victory over Port.

Later on, he clarified his earlier comments.
“I don’t mind Adelaide, I just don’t have a love for it. I was just joking around,” he explained.
Despite that, his remarks have stirred some reactions ahead of the AFL’s marquee round.
“He clearly hasn’t spent much time here; there’s so much to enjoy,” said Adelaide Crows forward Darcy Fogarty.
“But if he doesn’t like it, he can certainly leave pretty quickly.”
Premier Peter Malinauskas offered a friendly invitation to Higgins, encouraging him to check out what the city has to offer.
“Perhaps Jack just can’t tear himself away from that gaming console. But let’s assume for a moment that he can, we’re confident he’ll find plenty to enjoy,” the Premier commented.
Higgins accepted the Premier’s offer.
“If he wants to show me around, I’m up for it. I’ll set aside my Call of Duty for a bit and join him,” he said.
