RC Strasbourg Alsace have extended their unbeaten streak to 10 matches across all competitions (W5, D5) following a convincing 3-1 victory over relegation-threatened OGC Nice.
In their quest for consecutive European campaigns for only the second time in the club’s history, Martial Godo almost put the hosts ahead within the first eight minutes with a powerful strike that whizzed just above the crossbar.
Their pursuit for an opener persisted beyond the 15-minute mark as Julio Enciso came perilously close with a header that skimmed past the target.

Despite their relentless attacking display, Gary O’Neil’s side were unable to seize the lead in the 21st minute.
Godo, now bearing the responsibility of scoring in the absence of top Ligue 1 scorer Joaquín Panichelli, who is sidelined for the season with a knee injury, narrowly missed finding the bottom corner.
Further frustration ensued just three minutes later when his header sailed over the crossbar after beating goalkeeper Yehvann Diouf.
Yet, Godo finally broke the deadlock in the 28th minute when poor defending allowed him to head the ball past Diouf unmarked.
The Ivorian’s newfound confidence quickly rubbed off on his teammates, as just eight minutes later, Enciso doubled Strasbourg’s advantage with a dazzling effort.
After receiving a defence-splitting pass from Samir El Mourabet, the Paraguayan left his marker in his wake, dribbled around Diouf, and gently tapped the ball into an unguarded net.
Things went from bad to worse for Nice in the 42nd minute when El Mourabet unleashed a stunning strike that soared into the top corner to make it 3-0.
Claude Puel reacted to the dismal first-half performance by making three substitutions at the break.
Nevertheless, despite Nice’s manager’s attempts to turn the tide, they missed a glaring chance to make it 4-0 just four minutes after half-time when Enciso somehow headed wide.
It wasn’t until the 63rd minute that Mike Penders was tested, with Nice finally registering a notable shot on goal as Elye Wahi’s attempt was comfortably caught by the Chelsea loanee.
This brief flicker of hope for the visitors was reignited with Antoine Mendy’s sublime strike from distance in the 82nd minute, which curled beautifully into the bottom corner.
Ultimately, however, it proved to be a mere consolation as Strasbourg expertly managed the remaining minutes, inching closer to sixth-placed AS Monaco, now just three points adrift.
On the flip side, Nice find themselves still five points clear of the relegation playoff zone as they continue their disappointing effort to avoid a drop to the second tier of French football for the first time in over 20 years.
