Brøndby ended nearly 11 hours without a goal but still faced a devastating loss after Egyptian striker Ibrahim Adel netted the winner just two minutes from the final whistle, giving FC Nordsjælland a hard-fought 2-1 victory against Steve Cooper’s side in the Danish Superliga playoffs.
After a staggering 10 hours and 58 minutes without finding the net, Brøndby finally scored. Unfortunately for them, FC Nordsjælland turned a 0-1 disadvantage into a 2-1 success in Tuesday’s playoff match in the Danish Superliga.
The decisive goal came from substitute Ibrahim Adel, who struck just before time expired.
This victory sees the home team climb to third place in the table, while Brøndby languishes in sixth and last. It marked Brøndby’s tenth consecutive match without a win.
From the outset, the home team seized the initiative. The pacey Prince Junior appeared ready to make an impact, presenting a significant challenge for Brøndby’s right-back Oliver Villadsen.
Despite his struggles to contain the Ghanaian forward, the home side squandered several opportunities.

The visitors had some moments of possession as well, but it became evident that Brøndby’s forwards lacked confidence in the final third.
It looked as though the first half would end without any goals; however, in injury time, Brøndby broke the deadlock.
On a counterattack, Nicolai Vallys delivered a precise ball across goal for the onrushing Jacob Ambaek, who expertly slotted the ball home from close range.
The home team ramped up the pressure in the second half, rewarded shortly after the hour mark when Prince Junior’s clever back-heel found Alexander Lind, who calmly lifted the ball over Brøndby keeper Patrick Pentz.
This goal revitalised the home side, and two minutes before the end, they clinched the win when Ibrahim Adel completed a slick passing move with a powerful shot into the top of the net.
