Wellington Phoenix defender Sam Sutton has emphasised his commitment to the current Isuzu UTE A-League season while remaining non-committal about his future beyond 2025-26.
With his contract set to expire at the conclusion of the season, speculation regarding the New Zealand international’s next move has been rampant.
The 25-year-old spoke to reporters in the lead-up to Sunday’s clash against Newcastle Jets, stating: “Naturally, there’s always talk about your future when your contract is approaching its end.”
“As we are still mid-season, I don’t think it’s appropriate for me to speculate on my future, whether it involves remaining with the Phoenix or seeking opportunities overseas.”
“Ultimately, any decision I make will prioritise my career progression.”
