Western United’s on-fire striker Noah Botic has been awarded the Shark Player of the Month for January following a prolific spell in the Isuzu UTE A-League.
Botic clinched the accolade through a fan vote, garnering an impressive 35% of the total votes, surpassing a competitive list of nominees.
In second place was Alby Kelly-Heald, the Wellington Phoenix goalkeeper, followed by Sydney FC’s Joe Lolley and Adelaide United’s rising star Ethan Alagich, who completed the top four.

Botic was nominated for January’s award as one of the top ten players based on FotMob’s rating system.
The ten players with the highest FotMob ratings (ranging from 0.0 to 10.0) during each voting cycle are selected for the Shark Player of the Month award nominations; the eligibility period for January encompassed Rounds 11-15 of the current Isuzu UTE A-League season, accounting for matches played between December 31 and January 22.
During this voting period, Botic held the fifth-highest FotMob rating at 7.77, trailing behind Luke Brattan (7.90), Jed Drew (8.00), Lolley (8.28), and Kelly-Heald (8.31).

Botic netted four of his seven goals this season throughout January, with three scored during the voting period for the Shark Player of the Month between December 31 and January 22.
He equalised with a goal in the 90th minute during a thrilling 4-3 comeback victory against the Melbourne Victory on January 10, followed by a brace in his subsequent match against the Newcastle Jets, which Western United won 3-1.
Botic completed the month with another goal in a 2-2 draw against Central Coast Mariners, marking a remarkable stretch of three consecutive games in which he found the back of the net in the Isuzu UTE A-League.
