Sirius currently tops the Allsvenskan table on goal difference after only two rounds into the new season, having stunned title contenders Hammarby with a convincing 2-0 victory at home. In another thrilling match, Bromma played out a dramatic 2-2 draw against AIK.
Sirius 2-0 Hammarby
The two teams that notched the largest wins in the opening round clashed in Uppsala for the second round, with Hammarby’s prior victory over reigning champions Mjallby considered the standout performance by many.
However, that prior success was quickly forgotten as Sirius took control early on, scoring in the ninth minute when Isak Bjerkabo seized the ball just inside the Hammarby half. Given space, he combined with Oscar Krusnell, before curling the ball into the bottom corner from the edge of the penalty area.
Although Hammarby dominated possession throughout the match, they struggled to carve out significant chances to claw their way back, and Sirius put the game to bed with 20 minutes remaining.
A long clearance from goalkeeper David Celic ended up contested between Robbie Ure and Hammarby’s last defender, Victor Eriksson. After securing the ball, the Scottish forward sprinted away and finished confidently, marking his second goal of the season past Warner Hahn.
With two wins and two clean sheets, Sirius sits proudly at the top of the table, alongside Djurgarden, who is the only other team to have secured maximum points after two rounds.
Brommapojkarna 2-2 AIK
A dramatic equaliser in the 95th minute ensured that Brommapojkarna secured a second consecutive 2-2 draw as they kicked off their 2026 campaign, while AIK collected four points from their initial two league matches under the management of Jose Riveiro.
The match truly ignited just prior to the hour mark when Brommapojkarna goalkeeper Leo Cavallius passed the ball straight to Taha Ayari on the edge of the box, leading to a swift assist from Zadok Yohanna to Bersant Celina, who slotted the ball past Cavallius.
Nonetheless, the home side responded quickly, equalising just three minutes later when a deep cross from the right was met by David Isso, whose header struck the post; Mads Hansen was quick to react, tapping in the rebound.
As the match progressed, Gnaget appeared on track for another victory when Victor Andersson rose to head a Johan Hove cross home with 12 minutes left on the clock. However, fortune favoured the home side in stoppage time.
A probing pass created chaos in the AIK penalty area, and thanks to a lucky deflection, the ball fell favorably for Alex Timossi, whose shot was deflected past Sweden’s number one, Kristoffer Nordfeldt, ensuring a share of the points.
