The historic Anzac Day showdown between the Roosters and the Dragons kicked off with a fiery encounter when David Klemmer and Victor Radley clashed after the very first set.
In a pre-game interview with Andrew Johns on Nine, Radley indicated that Klemmer was his target, and he wasted no time in his attempts to agitate the hefty forward.
The incident was ignited by Dragons winger Tyrell Sloan, who tackled Roosters winger Billy Smith hard onto the ground after a missed scoring opportunity at the conclusion of the set.

Several Roosters players dashed in to rally around their teammate, soon followed by Klemmer, who added his presence to the fray.
Radley then set his sights on Klemmer, with both players looking ready to unleash their aggression as they neared the edge of the crowd.
“You don’t think that emotions have spilled over onto the field … it’s all unfolding,” broadcasted Mat Thompson on Nine.

“They nearly toppled into the crowd then … just look at them,” Andrew Johns remarked.
“It’s incredible what a lively atmosphere and a big crowd can do to both teams and their players.”
The Roosters secured the first try through Sandon Smith shortly after, yet their lead was fleeting as Sione Finau capitalised on a loose ball to sprint 80m downfield for a try of his own.
