The Brisbane Roar has surged ahead to the Ninja A-League Semi-Finals following an exciting 2-0 victory against Adelaide United on Saturday night.
After an initial attempt from Adelaide that set the tone, Brisbane dominated the first half.
The visitors’ defence initially held strong against Brisbane’s attacks for the first 50 minutes, but Kijah Stephenson’s moment of magic changed the course of the match.
Stephenson netted two expertly executed goals in quick succession, putting the home side in a deserved 2-0 advantage.
Aimee Medwin sealed the deal for Brisbane in the 83rd minute, extending their lead to an insurmountable three goals.
Brisbane’s commanding performance has now secured them a spot in the Semi-Final against Wellington Phoenix next week.
