Sydney FC star pens contract extension through to 2028

Sydney FC announced on Friday that promising young midfielder Claire Corbett has signed a new two-year contract extension, ensuring her stay at the club until 2028.

The 16-year-old Australian Under-17 international has quickly become one of the standout young talents in the Ninja A-League Women competition, with this new contract securing yet another exceptional prospect from Sydney FC’s esteemed female development pathway.

Corbett made a swift transition into the senior squad this season, debuting as a substitute against Melbourne City in early January.

She continued to be included in matchday selections before securing a starting position for the final six matches of the season—an impressive feat for a player of her age.

In total, Corbett made 11 appearances during her debut season, highlighting her growing importance to the squad and her considerable long-term potential.

Head Coach James Slaveski expressed the club’s excitement at retaining Corbett and supporting her development in Sky Blue.
