Bernardo Silva, the 31-year-old Portuguese international midfielder and captain of Manchester City, has officially confirmed his departure from the English club, with his contract set to expire this summer.
Completing his ninth season with Manchester City, Silva joined the team in the 2017/2018 campaign from Monaco.
Throughout his time at the club, the midfielder has made a remarkable 451 official appearances, ranking him as the sixth most capped player in City’s history.
“When I first arrived nine years ago, I was pursuing the dream of a young boy, striving for success and great achievements. This club and the city have provided me with far more than I could have ever imagined.
“Our shared accomplishments form a legacy that will always hold a special place in my heart. The Centurions, the domestic quadruple, the Treble, the Four In A Row, and so much more… It’s been a remarkable journey.”
“In just a few months, I’ll be bidding farewell to the city where we not only achieved so much as a football club but also where I started my family and married my beloved. A heartfelt thank you to Ines and Carlota!” Silva expressed in a heartfelt social media post.

A product of Benfica’s youth academy, Bernardo Silva made the move from Lisbon to Monaco in 2014. Following three successful seasons in the Principality, he joined Manchester City, where he has now concluded his ninth and final season, securing numerous accolades including a Champions League title and six Premier League championships.
This season, serving as captain, Bernstein has featured in 44 official matches, netting three goals and assisting five times.
