Reece Walsh is currently in hospital due to a suspected fractured cheekbone, while the Broncos are anxious about the fitness of Adam Reynolds, Ben Hunt, and Ezra Mam after their costly 26-12 victory against the Titans on Easter Saturday.
Walsh failed a head injury assessment after receiving a heavy knock during a low tackle on Kurtis Morrin in the 40th minute. Even if it turns out that the star fullback does not have a fractured cheekbone, he will still miss the match against North Queensland next Friday night because of the NRL’s 11-day stand-down rule.
Reynolds departed the field with a groin strain in the 25th minute and did not return. Hunt, who stepped in for the injured captain, is contending with a knee concern.
Although Hunt completed the match after replacing Reynolds, the premiership-winning player revealed to ABC Sport after the game that he had sustained an injury to his medial collateral ligament.

“Yeah, I’m alright,” Hunt stated.
“The doctor examined it at half-time. He thinks I’ve just stretched my medial a bit … I’ll get some tape on it.”
However, Hunt appeared less certain when questioned in the Broncos’ change rooms.
“I’ll head off and see the medical team now and assess the situation,” Hunt informed reporters.
When asked if he was concerned about missing the upcoming match, he replied: “Honestly, I’ve got no idea. No idea. I’ve never had this happen before, so we’ll just have to wait and see.”

He mentioned that having his knee strapped helped alleviate the discomfort.
“It’s painful, but you can push through it,” Hunt added.
The Broncos are set to take on North Queensland at Suncorp Stadium next Friday night.
