South Australia has clinched the Sheffield Shield title, dismissing Victoria in less than an hour on the fifth day to secure back-to-back championships.
Facing a target of just 82 runs to win on the final day, Victoria was in a precarious position with only three wickets remaining.
Unfortunately for them, they managed to survive a mere seven overs before Henry Thornton claimed the final two wickets of the match.

Initially batted first on a challenging wicket at the Junction Oval, South Australia encountered early difficulties, managing only 198 runs in their first innings.
The only notable contribution came from captain Nathan McSweeney, who scored 52 runs off 127 balls.
Victoria capitalised on this, building a solid position with robust middle-order performances from Fergus O’Neill (64 off 136) and Will Sutherland (34 off 57) to total 261 in response.
Then emerged Test star Alex Carey, who turned the tide for South Australia in their second innings with a vital 103, enabling them to set a target of 258 runs.
Alongside him, Nathan McAndrew contributed 60 runs, surviving 144 deliveries to anchor the innings.

McAndrew was named man of the match for his exceptional performance, contributing not only with the bat but also claiming six wickets.
South Australia recognised the importance of taking early wickets if they were to have any hope of winning. The pitch proved challenging for the batters against the new ball, playing to their advantage.
They dismantled the Victorian batting lineup across days four and five, with Marcus Harris (35 off 92) and Peter Handscomb (28 off 60) being the only players to put up any resistance.
Ollie Peake and Will Sutherland were swiftly dismissed on the final day, and O’Neill’s wicket fell to Thornton to seal the victory and initiate the celebrations.
There was a brief moment of uncertainty as the third umpire reviewed a potential front-foot no-ball, but it was quickly dismissed, leading to a jubilant atmosphere.

“It all went horribly wrong for Victoria today,” remarked former Australian wicketkeeper Adam Crosthwaite during the broadcast.
“South Australia has been exceptional this morning.”
Scott Boland performed well for Victoria, taking five wickets, while Sutherland contributed with six.
For South Australia, both Thornton and McAndrew claimed six wickets each, with Liam Scott finishing with five.
Ryan Harris, a former Australian bowling ace, has now secured back-to-back Sheffield Shield titles in his first two seasons as coach.
This marks the first instance in history that South Australia has achieved consecutive titles in this prestigious competition.
