Geoff Parling, the former assistant coach of the Wallabies, has expressed his regret after an incident involving a TV presenter prior to a Premiership match in England over the weekend.
Parling, who has taken over the coaching reins from Michael Cheika at Leicester Tigers, was visibly upset by a pre-match stunt orchestrated by TNT Sports ahead of the kickoff against Gloucester.
Ex-footballer Liam MacDevitt attempted a sideline conversion, which resulted in the ball landing amongst the Leicester players who were warming up.

Advancing towards both MacDevitt and TNT’s Craig Doyle, Parling confronted them. When Doyle asked, “Would you sign him, Geoff?” Parling declined sharply, responding: “It’s not f—ing on, get off the pitch, it’s not f—ing on,” as he pushed Doyle, all captured live on air.

Doyle later apologised for Parling’s outburst during the broadcast, noting, “Geoff not happy about that.”
Leicester secured a 36-17 victory in the match, and Parling subsequently extended his apologies.
“I wish to apologise for the incident that occurred pre-game yesterday; it’s crucial we maintain a family-friendly atmosphere and what transpired wasn’t suitable for viewers,” he stated.
“We have a fantastic product in the Gallagher Premiership, and I appreciate Craig Doyle and the entire TNT team for their commitment to innovation and fresh ideas.
“After our conversation last night, we will ensure to align fully behind new concepts, including the timing of their implementation, to continue promoting our game to new audiences.”
In a further discussion with BBC Radio Leicester immediately after the match, Parling clarified his stance.

“The TNT production team has apologised to me personally. They organised something without prior consultation, which we weren’t made aware of,” he mentioned.
“I am very concerned about ensuring the safety of my players, and having balls flying towards them poses an injury risk, which is understandably frustrating for me.”
Parling returned to England last year after spending seven years in Melbourne, where he became an Australian citizen.
