Sydney FC has announced the acquisition of one of the A-League’s most promising young talents, Willa Pearson, who has signed a new two-year contract. This deal guarantees that the 15-year-old prodigy will remain with the Sky Blues until 2028, continuing her impressive development.
Pearson has already made a name for herself as one of the most electrifying prospects in the A-League Women’s competition and is regarded as a potential future star for the Matildas.
The young star has recorded a remarkable debut season with Sydney FC, making history as the youngest player ever to take the field in the A-Leagues at just 14 years of age.
She also surpassed a long-standing record held by Sam Kerr, becoming the youngest goalscorer in A-Leagues history at the age of 15 years and 51 days.
Despite her tender age, Pearson has quickly established herself as a key player for the Sky Blues, having made 16 appearances this season, with 14 of those being starts, and scoring one goal.
Pearson is also a part of the CommBank Junior Matildas squad, highlighting her status as one of Australia’s most exciting young talents.
The student from Pymble Ladies College expressed her enthusiasm about extending her contract with Sydney FC and continuing her growth with the nation’s most successful club.
“I’m truly happy at Sydney FC and enjoy the progress I’m making here,” she stated.
“It’s incredibly exciting to know that I’ll be here for the next two years. This environment supports my development every day, and I’m thankful for the backing I receive from the coaches and my teammates.
“I aim to keep learning, improving, and contributing in as many ways as possible to help the team.”

Head Coach James Slaveski expressed his delight over securing Pearson’s continued commitment and helping to nurture her growth.
“Willa has a truly exciting future ahead, and we’re thrilled to have the opportunity to assist her development here at Sydney FC,” he remarked.
“She possesses immense potential, and if she remains dedicated to her growth and learning, she can reach the pinnacle of women’s sport.
“For someone so young to perform at such a high level and break records speaks volumes about her talent, but equally important is her drive and willingness to keep improving.”
Pearson is set to be included in the Sky Blues squad for their upcoming match against Melbourne Victory at Leichhardt Oval this Saturday evening (5pm).
