Adelaide United has surged into second place on the Ninja A-League ladder, thanks to goals from Erin Healy and Chelsie Dawber, securing a comfortable 3-0 victory over Perth Glory at Coopers Stadium. This win marks a club-record unbeaten streak of eight matches.

The home team wasted no time, taking the lead just eight minutes into the match. Healy unleashed a powerful low shot that zipped past the keeper into the bottom corner after receiving a well-placed pass from Emily Condon.

In the 31st minute, the Reds doubled their advantage. Lucia Leon made a brilliant run to the byline, setting up Dawber, who expertly lifted the ball over keeper Casey Dumont from a tight angle, pushing the score to 2-0.

Adelaide continued to pressure in the second half, with several opportunities to increase their lead. They finally bagged their third goal in the dying moments of stoppage time, when Healy capitalised on a loose ball, striking home from close range in the 93rd minute, sealing their ninth league victory of the season.

This decisive win propels Adrian Stenta’s team into second place on the ladder, now just four points behind league leaders Melbourne City.

On the flip side, Perth Glory, under Stephen Peters, finds themselves languishing in ninth position, having suffered their third defeat in four matches due to injuries ravaging the squad.

Perth Glory crafted the first genuine opportunity of the match in the 8th minute, with Caitlin Doeglas connecting with a deep cross that required a scrambling save from Adelaide United keeper Claudia Jenkins.

As the home side gained confidence, they found the breakthrough just before the 16-minute mark. Healy, finding space at the edge of the box, received the ball from Condon and expertly directed it into the bottom corner, marking her fourth goal of the season.

Perth appeared rattled after conceding the first goal, and it didn’t take long for Adelaide to extend their lead.
