Despite the defeat of his Sunrisers Hyderabad team against the Lucknow Super Giants in the IPL, Pat Cummins has distinguished himself among cricketing greats.
Lucknow captain Rishabh Pant won the toss and opted to bat first, sending in the Sunrisers. Travis Head was explosive at the top order, scoring 47 runs off 28 balls before Prince Yadav claimed his wicket for his first IPL dismissal.
Cummins came to the crease with his side at 6-156 after 16 overs and proceeded to hit three consecutive sixes off his first three deliveries.
“Bang, bang, and more bang,” commented Sunil Gavaskar during the live broadcast.

However, Cummins was dismissed on the following delivery, caught at short third man off Avesh Khan’s bowling.
His remarkable achievement of hitting three sixes in succession places him alongside MS Dhoni (2024), Nicholas Pooran (2023), and Sunil Narine (2021), who have all accomplished the same feat.
Hyderabad concluded their innings at 9-190, with Shardul Thakur taking impressive figures of 4-34.
In response, Mitch Marsh led the Lucknow batting with a brisk 52 off 31 balls before Cummins finally dismissed him.
Pooran was the standout performer, scoring 70 runs off just 26 balls, guiding the team to chase down the target in a mere 16.1 overs.
Cummins finished with figures of 2-29, while Adam Zampa contributed with 1-46 off four overs.
