Last Match Results
Adelaide United: Defeated 3-1 by Newcastle Jets (H)
Wellington Phoenix: Lost 1-0 to Western Sydney Wanderers (H)
Adelaide’s squad has faced several setbacks with Fiona Worts’ transfer to South Korea’s Incheon Hyundai Steel Red Angels, alongside injuries, international commitments, and personal reasons, leading to a significantly depleted team for this match.
This has reflected in their recent performances, where they have recorded a draw and two losses over the past three games.
Wellington has also suffered consecutive defeats, with their latest loss to Western Sydney knocking them out of the premiership chase.
Both teams have secured playoff positions, but they will be vying for a second-place finish, which offers the benefit of an extra weekend off.
The last encounter saw Wellington triumph 3-1 in Round 14, with Makala Woods netting one goal and Brooke Nunn scoring twice before Reds captain Isabel Hodgson provided a late consolation.
Perth Glory vs Melbourne Victory
Friday, 3 April – Sam Kerr Football Centre – 7:00pm AEDT

Current Standings
Perth Glory: 8th
Melbourne Victory: 7th
Last Match Results
Perth Glory: Lost 5-2 to Brisbane Roar (A)
Melbourne Victory: Defeated 2-1 by Sydney FC (A)
For Victory, the path to the finals is straightforward: win this match and hope that Central Coast loses to Sydney and/or Brisbane falters against Canberra on Saturday. Any other result will end their finals hopes.
Victory could have been in a stronger position had they preserved their lead against Sydney last week; however, defensive lapses resulted in leaving Leichhardt Oval empty-handed.
The Glory managed to equalise 2-2 against Brisbane just after half-time last week, but late lapses saw them concede three goals, effectively ending their finals aspirations.
While Perth can still technically qualify, it remains improbable. They require a win, a Central Coast loss, and must reverse a 10-goal difference with the Mariners.
When these sides met in Round 5, Victory secured a decisive 3-0 victory with goals from Kennedy White, Sofia Sakalis, and Rhianna Pollicina, all scored in the first half.
Central Coast Mariners vs Sydney FC
Saturday, 4 April – polytec Stadium – 2:15pm AEDT
MATCH CENTRE | BUY TICKETS | HOW TO WATCH
Current Standings
Central Coast Mariners: 6th
Sydney FC: 11th
Last Match Results
Central Coast Mariners: 0-0 draw against Canberra United (H)
Sydney FC: Victorious 2-1 over Melbourne Victory (H)
A win against Sydney will guarantee Central Coast’s spot in the top six, and with an Adelaide loss to Wellington and a draw or loss for Brisbane against Canberra, they could even finish fourth.
Although a draw or loss might still see them through, they would require Melbourne Victory to also drop points against Perth Glory.
Sydney climbed off the bottom of the table with their win over Melbourne, only to find themselves back in that position when the Wanderers secured a victory against Wellington.
As Western Sydney has a bye this weekend, Sydney can ensure their cross-town rivals inherit the wooden spoon with at least a draw here.
Maddie Caspers, aged 18, scored the decisive goal in Sydney’s previous 1-0 win against Central Coast when the sides met in Round 4.
Canberra United vs Brisbane Roar
Saturday, 4 April – McKellar Park – 3:00pm AEDT
MATCH CENTRE | BUY TICKETS | HOW TO WATCH
Current Standings
Canberra United: 3rd
Brisbane Roar: 5th
Last Match Results
Canberra United: 0-0 draw against Central Coast Mariners (A)
Brisbane Roar: Won 5-2 against Perth Glory (H)
Brisbane has gone on a scoring spree recently, netting nine goals in their last two matches, which has propelled them back into the playoff mix.
The Roar could finish as high as third with a win combined with a Wellington loss, but conversely, they could miss out if they lose, Central Coast wins against Sydney, and Melbourne Victory defeats Perth.
Canberra’s position is secure for finals, though their placement can range from second to fifth based on other results.
The last fixture in January saw Brisbane come away with a 3-1 victory where Daisy Brown, Sharn Freier, and Bente Jansen found the scoresheet after Sofia Christopherson had put Canberra ahead first.
Newcastle Jets vs Melbourne City
Sunday, 5 April – Maitland Sports Ground – 4:00pm AEDT

Current Standings
Newcastle Jets: 9th
Melbourne City: 1st
Last Match Results
Newcastle Jets: Claimed a 3-1 victory over Adelaide United (A)
Melbourne City: Bye
Melbourne City were crowned Ninja A-League Premiers last weekend; the confirmation coming during half-time of their AFC Women’s Champions League quarter-final, further solidifying their lead at the top of the table when Wellington lost to Western Sydney.
Newcastle battled hard, winning against Adelaide 3-1 to keep their finals hopes alive, but their fate was ultimately sealed with Central Coast’s draw against Canberra United.
This match may not have direct finals implications, but it holds significance. City is preparing for upcoming finals, while Newcastle aims to demonstrate their capabilities against the league’s best.
In their previous encounter in Round 13, Newcastle came away with a 3-1 win, with goals from Kelli Brown, Libby Copus-Brown, and Charlotte Lancaster, while Holly McNamara converted a penalty for City.
