Luciano Spalletti has agreed to continue as Juventus manager after signing a new two-year contract, as confirmed by the Serie A club on Friday.
According to reports, Spalletti will receive an annual salary of five million euros (approximately $5.8 million) as part of his renewed deal.
“We are thrilled to announce the extension of Luciano’s contract for another two seasons,” stated Juventus CEO Damien Comolli.
Spalletti took the helm at Juventus in October, following the dismissal of Igor Tudor, with the primary aim of securing a place in the Champions League.
“I want to share with you before it becomes official that we have chosen to extend my contract for an additional two years,” Spalletti mentioned in a video released by Juventus, showing him addressing his players.
The club has been impressed with the 67-year-old, who is best known for leading Napoli to the Serie A title in 2023.
“Since Luciano joined the Juventus family, he has made an immediate and significant impact on our players, the entire club, and the wider Bianconeri community,” Comolli added.
Spalletti, whose last role was a challenging and unfruitful period as the Italy national team coach, has Juventus just one point behind fourth place, currently held by Como.
However, the effective gap is two points, as Como has triumphed in both encounters with Juventus this season.
Juventus will face another contender for Champions League qualification on Saturday night when they take on Atalanta.
