On Friday, Western Sydney Wanderers announced that Gary van Egmond’s time at the club will conclude this weekend.
The Wanderers’ head coach, Gary van Egmond, has chosen to resign from his position, with Saturday night’s match set to be his last in charge of the Isuzu UTE A-League side.
Van Egmond made this decision to give the new Head Coach and football staff the opportunity to start carving out the next chapter of the club’s football initiatives.

During a testing time for the club, van Egmond has earned admiration for his professionalism, dedication, and steady leadership, delivering consistency amid a period of transition.
Western Sydney Wanderers CEO Scott Hudson expressed his gratitude towards Gary for his dedication and contributions to the club.
“Gary has exemplified professionalism throughout what has been a challenging time for the club,” Hudson remarked.
“He stepped up and provided the stability we needed when it was crucial, allowing us to start planning with renewed clarity for future seasons.
“We are profoundly appreciative of the manner he has represented himself and the respect he has shown towards the club, the players, and the staff. On behalf of the Wanderers, we extend our thanks to Gary and wish him and his family the very best for what lies ahead.”
