Football Australia has officially announced that match officials Alireza Faghani, George Lakrindis, Andrew Lindsay, and Shaun Evans will represent Australia at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
With considerable experience in the Isuzu UTE A-League, Faghani is set to take centre stage at this prestigious tournament hosted by the USA, Canada, and Mexico. His credentials include officiating at a variety of international events, including the recent 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.
Alongside him, fellow A-League referee Evans will travel to the United States to serve as a dedicated Video Match Official, while Lakrindis and Lindsay will support as assistant referees.
“These appointments signify a remarkable achievement for Australian refereeing and showcase the effectiveness of Football Australia’s high-performance officiating programs, which are advancing match officials to compete at football’s highest level,” noted Jon Moss, Football Australia’s Head of Refereeing.
