The 2027 Netball World Cup is set to be aired on Nine following a new five-year broadcasting agreement with Netball Australia.
This arrangement commences in January and encompasses all Super Netball events, matches featuring the Australian Diamonds, and the World Cup, which will take place in Sydney.
Fans can enjoy live coverage of matches on 9Now and Stan Sport. Select Super Netball games each round, all finals, every Diamonds match, and crucial matches during the World Cup will be available free-to-air on the 9Network.
“The technical term is, we are thrilled,” stated Liz Ellis, chair of Netball Australia, on Nine’s Today show on Thursday.

“This deal puts the sport centre stage. For young girls—and increasingly young boys—who consider the various sports they want to play, watching netball athletes on such a significant platform will inspire them. And that big stage is approaching rapidly.
“Super Netball is the most well-attended women’s sporting event in Australia, and next year, we’ll host the World Cup right here in Sydney, featuring the top nations across the globe battling it out live on Nine.”
Nine originally served as the foundation broadcaster when Super Netball launched ten years ago.
“It’s wonderful for us to partner once more to showcase the premier netball talent in the world’s leading netball league,” said NA chief executive Stacey West.
“We’ve consistently heard from our fans that they desire more netball content.

“This sport holds significant importance to fans across the nation, and enabling them to watch it together and honour their heroes is what fosters those memorable moments that strengthen their connection with our game.”
Amanda Laing, Nine Group’s streaming and broadcast managing director, noted that netball is now part of “a collection of sports that Australians are most passionate about.”
“And netball rightly belongs in this category,” she affirmed.
“It resonates through schools, neighbourhoods, and rural towns nationwide, boasting dedicated fans and robust community ties,” she added.
This agreement also cements Nine’s status as a top destination for women’s sports, joining the recently disclosed WTA Tour, NRLW, WNBL, WSL, women’s rugby including Super W, along with swimming and athletics.
