The 2027 Netball World Cup is set to be aired on Nine, thanks to a newly formed five-year broadcast agreement with Netball Australia.
The agreement commences in January and encompasses all Super Netball contests, matches involving the Australian Diamonds, and the World Cup itself, which will take place in Sydney.
Fans will have the opportunity to catch matches live via 9Now and Stan Sport. Selected Super Netball fixtures each round, all finals, all Diamonds matches, and significant World Cup games will be available free-to-air on the 9Network.
“We are absolutely thrilled,” remarked Netball Australia chair Liz Ellis during an appearance on Nine’s Today show on Thursday.

“This elevates the sport and puts it prominently in the limelight. For young girls and increasingly young boys considering their sporting options, they will witness netball’s stars performing on a grand scale, and that big stage is just around the corner.
“Super Netball is the most popular women’s sport in Australia, and with the World Cup being hosted right here in Sydney next year, we will showcase the top teams from across the globe competing at the highest level, live on Nine.”
Nine was the inaugural broadcast partner for Super Netball when the league launched ten years ago.
“It’s fantastic for us to team up again to highlight the finest netball talent worldwide, competing in the premier netball league,” said NA chief executive Stacey West.
“We have continually received feedback from our supporters expressing a desire for more netball coverage.

“This sport is cherished by fans nationwide, and enabling them to come together to watch and celebrate their heroes is what fosters those magical moments that create a deeper connection with the game.”
Amanda Laing, Nine Group’s streaming and broadcast managing director, expressed that netball now joins “a portfolio of sports that Australians are most passionate about.”
“And netball absolutely belongs in that category,” she affirmed.
“It’s ingrained in schools, communities, and regional areas across Australia, with fervent fans and robust grassroots support,” she noted.
This agreement further cements Nine’s position as a leading hub for women’s sport. Netball joins the recently signed WTA Tour, NRLW, WNBL, WSL, and women’s rugby, including Super W, along with swimming and athletics.
