Wests Tigers centre Patrick Herbert marked his return to the NRL after a four-year hiatus with a remarkable display, contributing a sensational try assist and scoring a try himself during a commanding first half against the Knights at Campbelltown.
Herbert was a last-minute addition to the Tigers’ lineup, having not featured in the league since his spell at the Titans in 2022.
As the Tigers led 12-0, Apisai Koroisau delivered a pass to Herbert on the fourth tackle, close to the try line.
Although immediately tackled, Herbert skillfully managed to free up one hand and delivered an overhead pass to Sunia Turuva, who then crossed for his second try.

Brad Fittler praised the move as a “daring play” as the Tigers extended their lead to 16-0.
With five minutes remaining in the first half, Herbert capped off his stellar performance by breaking free on the right flank and using a deceptive dummy to bypass Fletcher Hunt, scoring with ease.
