Newcastle manager Eddie Howe has made his return to the club’s training facility following his recovery from pneumonia, as announced by the Premier League club on Thursday.
The 47-year-old was hospitalised earlier this month and missed crucial league matches against Manchester United, Crystal Palace, and Aston Villa.
“Newcastle United is thrilled to announce that Eddie Howe has resumed his duties at the club’s training centre,” the statement from the club read.
“After being recently hospitalised due to pneumonia, Eddie has successfully returned to work following a period of recuperation.
“We appreciate the warm wishes from our supporters.”
Under the guidance of assistant manager Jason Tindall, fifth-placed Newcastle claimed convincing victories against United and Palace, although they faced a heavy defeat to Villa.
Having lifted the League Cup last month, the Magpies are set to host struggling Ipswich on Saturday, aiming to build momentum in their quest for Champions League qualification.
The top five teams in the Premier League will secure a spot in next season’s prestigious European competition.
Liverpool is closing in on the Premier League title, with Arsenal likely to finish second; however, just four points separate third-placed Manchester City from Villa, sitting in seventh position.
