Real Betis has extended their winless streak to seven LaLiga matches (D5, L2) after playing out a 1-1 draw against Osasuna at El Sadar Stadium.
Following a promising start to the season, Betis’ performance has taken a downturn lately, leading to a significant decline in their position for UEFA Europa League qualification.
They faced an Osasuna team that had experienced defeat only twice in their last 11 LaLiga encounters, but Betis began strongly, taking the lead within the first 10 minutes.
A swift counter-attack saw Hector Bellerin execute a superb through ball that found Abde Ezzalzouli, allowing the Moroccan forward to place a lovely shot into the net from outside the box.
Osasuna nearly responded immediately, but a remarkable block by Valentin Gomez prevented Jon Moncayola from scoring at the back post. Ezzalzouli remained a constant threat throughout the first half, forcing Sergio Herrera into an outstanding save with a powerful shot from roughly 25 yards out.
As the half drew to a close, Osasuna were awarded a penalty just before the break when Gomez fouled Jorge Herrando after Alvaro Valles thwarted Ante Budimir’s header.
Budimir, who had netted 15 LaLiga goals prior to this match—only Vedat Muriqi and Kylian Mbappe having scored more—converted confidently from the penalty spot, bringing the scores level.

Upon returning for the second half, Osasuna appeared more threatening and created two excellent opportunities through the agile Victor Munoz. Valles made a brilliant save to tip his curling shot over the crossbar, and soon after, Budimir unintentionally blocked a close-range try from his own teammate.
Iker Munoz later came close with a low free-kick that sailed just past the post, while Ezzalzouli at the other end finally tested Herrera, marking a rare attacking push from the visitors.
Ultimately, both teams were unable to secure the much-needed winning goal, which puts Betis at risk of dropping to sixth place if Celta Vigo secures a win against Real Oviedo later on Sunday.
Meanwhile, Osasuna has now gone unbeaten in their last 10 home matches, keeping their aspirations for European football alive as they trail the top six by five points with seven games left to play.
