A thumb injury won’t prevent Matt Kuhnemann from undergoing the upcoming assessments of his bowling action, which has come under scrutiny.
The thumb issue sidelined Kuhnemann from participating in Tasmania’s Sheffield Shield matchup against South Australia, though he managed to perform amid the discomfort during his stint in Galle.
Fortunately, since the injury is on his non-bowling hand, he will still be required to undergo ICC testing in the coming weeks.
While it is common for players to travel abroad for such evaluations, it is reported that the biomechanical assessments will take place at the National Cricket Centre in Brisbane.

He is expected to bowl at a comparable speed and with similar revolutions as he did during his time in Sri Lanka, where he achieved 16 wickets at an impressive average of 17.18.
The ICC will take several weeks to assess whether Kuhnemann’s action complies with regulations or if his arm extends beyond the permissible 15-degree limit.
“As a team, all we can do is lend our support to him,” remarked Tasmania captain Jordan Silk.
“He has undoubtedly enjoyed a remarkable few weeks with the Australian team and played a pivotal role in their series victory over there.
“It has come as a surprise to many, but as an organisation, our priority is to support him and we look forward to welcoming him back into the group.”
