Ajax, currently sitting in second place, are reportedly close to finalising a deal for 24-year-old right-back Lucas Rosa from Real Valladolid.
The news emerged shortly after Ajax secured a 2-1 victory in the Klassieker derby against Feyenoord, as reported by Fabrizio Romano and Voetbal International‘s Tim van Duijn.
Following the departure of Devyne Rensch to AS Roma in January for an estimated €5 million, Ajax has been in search of a new right-back.
According to Van Duijn, the Dutch club has settled on a transfer fee of €2 million for Rosa, who is versatile enough to play on both the left and right flanks of defence.
This season, Rosa has featured in 21 matches for the struggling Real Valladolid, contributing one assist. The young Brazilian began his career with Palmeiras before joining Juventus’ youth setup in 2018 and subsequently moved to Valladolid in 2021 on a free transfer.

Ajax had previously aimed to sign Rosa’s team-mate Raul Moro during this transfer window, but a deal fell through due to the 22-year-old winger sustaining a serious shoulder injury.
