Jovanovic’s nomination for Young Footballer of the Year for March was determined by a panel chosen by the Australian Professional Leagues (APL).
This panel consists of a mix of media professionals and technical football specialists who cast their votes using a 3-2-1 scoring system at the end of each nominated monthly period during the season.
For the March nomination, the panel evaluated performances between March 6 and March 22, which included rounds 20-22 of the Isuzu UTE A-League.
During this time frame, Jovanovic showcased his skills for Adelaide, scoring three goals over three matches.
He logged a total of 238 minutes during the eligible period, playing a pivotal role as he scored in the 1-1 draw with Wellington and netted a double in the 4-2 victory against Western Sydney.
Jovanovic becomes the fifth player to receive a nomination for this season, following the previous recognition of former Brisbane Roar defender Lucas Herrington for the October/November period, and Newcastle Jets players Eli Adams, Lachlan Bayliss, and Clayton Taylor, who received the nominations for December, January, and February, respectively.
Next up, Jovanovic and his Adelaide teammates will be in action on Saturday afternoon, travelling to McDonald Jones Stadium to face off against the league leaders, Newcastle Jets.
