CHRISTCHURCH: Four out of five isn’t too shabby.
In fact, Meatloaf would undoubtedly concur that it’s pretty impressive.
However, the ACT Brumbies fell short of making history against the Hurricanes, suffering a substantial defeat of 45-12 at One New Zealand Stadium.
Having already triumphed over all four New Zealand Super Rugby teams, the Brumbies aimed to be the first Australian franchise to achieve a clean sweep in the regular season.
Fehi Fineanganofo reaffirmed his outstanding form with a phenomenal performance, scoring three tries in the first half and capping it off with a sensational fourth.
With this latest haul, he has bagged 14 tries this season—five more than the sidelined Brumbies No. 8, Charlie Cale.

The 23-year-old’s departure to the ambitious Newcastle Red Bulls later this year will be a significant blow for New Zealand rugby.
While Stephen Larkham is an expert at keeping a straight face, the Brumbies coach must have been seething inside as he witnessed a series of schoolboy mistakes.
Declan Meredith’s hopes of making the Wallabies were hampered when the No. 10 was substituted at half-time after making two costly errors in attacking opportunities.
David Feliuai and Corey Toole managed to score the Brumbies’ two tries, while Josh Moorby notched a brace for the dominant Hurricanes.
This victory sees the Hurricanes reclaim the top position on the ladder, although the Chiefs are likely to surpass them again in the final match of Super Round against the Fijian Drua on Sunday.
New Zealand’s second-largest city has wholeheartedly embraced this concept, with all three days now sold out.

Event organisers revealed on Saturday that over 70,000 tickets had been sold, with more than 13,000 fans journeying to Christchurch for the weekend.
“When we embarked on creating a true rugby festival, the vision was to unite our clubs, players, and supporters for a memorable weekend,” said Super Rugby Pacific CEO Jack Mesley.
“The complete sellout across Friday, Saturday, and Sunday illustrates that vision has come to life. A remarkable chapter in Super Rugby history has been written here in Christchurch.”
