Zac Lomax made a remarkable debut in Super Rugby Pacific, leading the Western Force to an astonishing comeback against the Crusaders, overturning a 19-point deficit to claim a thrilling 31-26 victory in Perth.
In his first start for Super Rugby Pacific, the former NRL standout displayed poise under pressure and became pivotal during several key moments of the match.
His try in the 54th minute brought the scores level at HBF Park, revitalising the Force’s chances in the contest.
Lomax was substituted shortly after scoring his exhilarating first try in the 59th minute, sparking wild celebrations among the 6,659-strong crowd as the Force took the lead in the 70th minute.
The momentum shifted significantly towards the home side during the second half.
In a frantic moment in the 75th minute, the Crusaders erroneously thought they had equalised, prompting the Force to dig deep defensively in the closing phases of the match.

In a decisive moment, Carlo Tizzano secured a vital penalty at the breakdown, clinching the victory and improving the Force’s record to 3-6, keeping their finals aspirations alive.
“It’s been quite a while since I last scored, around seven or eight months,” Lomax reflected post-match in an interview with Stan.
“Getting to start a game and playing 59 minutes has me really pumped. Winning makes it even more special.

“You can see it on the boys’ faces, this victory means everything to us. We’ve been building towards a performance like this,” he added.
The Western Force will travel to Sydney to take on the Waratahs on Friday, May 1.
