Jackson Warne, son of the late cricket legend Shane Warne, has suggested that the COVID vaccine may have played a role in his father’s unexpected demise in 2022.
The renowned Australian cricketer passed away from a heart attack, attributed to atherosclerosis, while on holiday in Thailand, at the age of 52.
An autopsy concluded that Warne’s death was due to natural causes.
In a conversation featured on the 2Worlds Collide Podcast, Jackson was asked about his father’s death and the potential impact of the COVID vaccines administered less than a year beforehand.

“I genuinely believe it had a part to play,” he remarked.
“It’s not even a controversial statement anymore. Regardless of whether Dad had pre-existing health concerns, I think this brought them to the forefront.”
“As soon as I hung up, I blamed the government and pointed fingers at COVID and the vaccine.”
A state memorial service honouring Warne was held at the Melbourne Cricket Ground a few weeks after his death.
Jackson, who spoke at the service, disclosed that he considered directing criticism at the Victorian government over the mandatory nature of the vaccinations.
“At the state memorial, I nearly called out the government and COVID, but I held back. It was probably wise not to—I’d be in a completely different position now if I had,” Jackson reflected.
“That was my mindset, and even after the last few years, I haven’t changed my perspective.”
In the aftermath of Shane Warne’s passing, Jackson and his sisters, Summer and Brooke, have initiated the free Shane Warne Legacy Health Check, aiming to raise awareness about the risks of cardiovascular disease.
With 708 Test wickets to his name, Warne is widely regarded as one of Australia’s greatest cricketers.
