Les Kiss, the incoming Wallabies coach, has put a temporary end to his critics’ concerns by leading the Queensland Reds to a surprising 31-26 victory over the reigning champion Crusaders.
Amidst mounting pressure after his team conceded 94 points in consecutive defeats to the Hurricanes and the Western Force, the Reds’ head coach received a much-needed response from his players, allowing veteran Filipo Daugunu to celebrate a memorable 100th Super Rugby match.

“We showed great determination,” Kiss remarked during his post-match interview on Stan Sport.
Carter Gordon, the talented Test fly-half, also found the try line after Wallabies captain Harry Wilson launched a superb kick down the field.
“What an incredible moment!” exclaimed Tim Horan on Stan Sport.

Unfortunately, Gordon couldn’t complete the match and was seen on crutches at Suncorp Stadium.
The extent of Gordon’s injury has not yet been disclosed by the Reds.
Nevertheless, Queensland has every reason to celebrate this significant win, marking their first home victory against the Crusaders since the 2011 grand final held in Brisbane.
Several stars from that 2011 title-winning side were present to commemorate the 15-year anniversary of that momentous occasion.
The Reds are now ranked fifth on the ladder, holding a three-point lead over the sixth-placed Crusaders, with the top six teams qualifying for the finals. Queensland will enjoy a bye next weekend.
