Michael Voss has made it clear that he is not concerned with the speculation regarding his future at Carlton; he firmly believes that everyone at the club is “aligned” as they tackle the upcoming season.
With a disappointing start of just one win from four games, Carlton supporters have heightened expectations, putting additional pressure on Voss to steer the team back onto the winning path.
The chatter surrounding his capability to achieve this with the current squad has been intense, although football chief Chris Davies has spoken out to dismiss any talk of a coaching change.
In spite of last week’s comments, Voss remains laser-focused on his responsibilities.
“I don’t let it distract me,” he stated on Tuesday.

“At some point, you have to focus on the task at hand. That’s our current approach.
“I’m not preoccupied with anything except for getting the best out of the team and providing them with the utmost support to facilitate the progress we require.”
So far this season, Carlton has only found themselves in the lead during one of eight quarters before half-time, and they’ve also squandered significant leads in their last two outings.
Voss acknowledged that such alarming statistics will inevitably draw criticism, which the club is prepared for.
“We’re not winning, so it’s only natural to expect some level of scrutiny,” he mentioned.
“You understand that it’s part of the week-to-week dynamic, especially after a match you should have won but failed to capitalize on.”
“What’s critical is to continually discern between what’s a genuine concern and what isn’t.”
Voss further explained: “The essential factor is performing under pressure and maintaining execution during pivotal moments.”

“Everything I see indicates that, when reviewing specific moments, the work that we’re doing for each other is a genuine positive for us.
“However, it’s necessary to maintain that effort throughout the game, which is the challenge we face. Some key discussions have arisen from this.
Regardless, he feels no disconnect exists between himself, the team, the club, or the fans.
“No, I don’t,” he responded when asked about any perceived divides.
“What we do agree on is that we aren’t content with our current standing.”
Carlton will face Adelaide in the opening match of Gather Round on Thursday.
