Superliga leaders AGF have announced that should they secure a spot in European football, their home matches will be held at Cepheus Park in Randers.
AGF finds themselves in the midst of a remarkable season, one that could see them clinch their first Danish championship title in four decades and subsequently earn a place in European club competitions.
However, there is one hurdle. As AGF’s new stadium project, Kongelunden, is still under construction, the team is currently playing at a temporary venue in Vejlby, which does not meet the requirements set by the European Football Association (UEFA).
To resolve this issue, AGF has come to an arrangement with Randers FC. If the team from Aarhus qualifies for European football, they will stage their home matches at Cepheus Park, where Randers typically play their home games.
The two clubs have reached an agreement for AGF to hire the facilities in Randers for their European fixtures.
“We are grateful that Randers is allowing us to use their stadium, even though it means additional costs for us to forgo playing at our own venue in these potential European matches,” stated AGF’s director Jacob Nielsen.
The director further mentioned that they have been in talks with various stadiums and have taken the opinions of the club’s supporters into account when making this decision.
