Victory found a way back late in the first half. After being down 1-0, Ferreyra clipped Vergos in the calf while attempting to clear the ball, which led to a penalty after a VAR review. Initially, referee Jonathan Barreiro did not award the penalty, but upon reviewing the incident on the pitchside monitor, he reversed his decision. Machach stepped up and scored, bringing Victory level just before half-time.
