Wolverhampton Wanderers have officially been relegated to the Championship after West Ham’s goalless draw with Crystal Palace in the Premier League.
The result sees West Ham climb to 35 points, pushing them further away from the relegation zone, while Wolves remain stranded on 17 points—18 points from safety. With only five matches remaining, Rob Edwards’ team cannot accumulate enough points to rise above 18th place.
This marks Wolves’ return to the Championship after eight years in the top tier, and it’s their first relegation since 2012.
After being promoted to the Premier League in 2018, Wolves enjoyed considerable success, finishing seventh in their initial season.
The club maintained that momentum with another seventh-place finish the following season, along with a run to the Europa League semi-finals in 2019/20. However, as they began losing key players to more prominent clubs, their league finishes slipped into the bottom half.
This season started off poorly, with Wolves bottom of the table after losing their first five games, and by the halfway point of the campaign, it became evident that their time in the top flight was coming to an end, having failed to secure a win in their opening 19 league fixtures.
Things took a slight turn for the better when Vitor Pereira was replaced by Rob Edwards, but the Midlands club never truly appeared capable of mounting a miraculous escape from relegation.

Tottenham’s Position Worsens
The stalemate at Selhurst Park was also a setback for Tottenham, managed by Roberto De Zerbi,
They appeared poised to escape the relegation zone over the weekend when they led Brighton deep into stoppage time, only for a last-minute equaliser from the Seagulls to keep them in 18th place.
Tottenham then fell further back in the survival battle when Nottingham Forest overturned a deficit to defeat Burnley.
As it stands, they trail West Ham by two points and are five points behind Nottingham Forest, with all three teams having five matches remaining.
