Villarreal footballer Thomas Partey appeared at a London court on Monday, where he pleaded not guilty to two new charges of rape.
The Ghana international, Partey, has previously denied five counts of rape involving two women, in addition to a charge of sexual assault concerning a third woman, occurring between 2021 and 2022.
At Southwark Crown Court, the 32-year-old midfielder entered a plea of not guilty to two additional rape offences related to a fourth complainant, which were filed in December 2020.
The alleged incidents occurred during Partey’s tenure with Premier League side Arsenal. He departed the club last summer to join Spain’s Villarreal.
Partey was granted bail as he awaits trial, which is scheduled to commence in November but may face delays.
He was signed by Arsenal in 2020 from Atletico Madrid for 50 million euros (approximately $58.49 million), quickly establishing himself as a vital member of the team before his contract lapsed at the end of June.
