Tottenham Hotspur will evaluate the condition of Dominic Solanke and Xavi Simons following their early exits during Saturday’s 1-0 victory against Wolverhampton Wanderers. This presents a challenge for manager Roberto De Zerbi as his team fights against relegation.
Solanke had to be taken off in the 40th minute due to a muscle issue, while Simons was substituted in the 63rd minute after suffering a knee problem.
Despite these injuries, Joao Palhinha’s goal in the 82nd minute earned Tottenham their first league win in 16 games at Molineux. Spurs currently sit in 18th place in the league, accumulating 34 points from 34 matches, just two points adrift of safety.
“Solanke is dealing with a muscular injury. I can’t determine the extent just yet, and Xavi has a knee issue, which we’ll assess over the next couple of days, likely by Monday or Tuesday,” De Zerbi informed the press.
“I don’t expect Solanke’s injury to be too serious. I’m unsure of how many matches we’ll miss him for, but I am keen to understand Xavi’s condition better, as knee injuries can be quite unpredictable compared to muscular ones.”
With the looming threat of their first relegation from the top tier since 1977, Tottenham has four matches remaining, with their next outing set against Aston Villa this Sunday.
