The collaboration between Team Thryv and Race For A Cure is set to return to Mount Panorama this Easter, aiming to generate essential funds for breast cancer research and trials during the 2026 Bathurst 6 Hour.
This partnership is making waves at Bathurst’s famed circuit from 3-5 April, as Team Thryv | Race For A Cure showcases their race-ready #92 BMW M2, emblazoned in its distinctive orange colours, for the six-hour endurance race.
Supercars driver Thomas Randle will take the lead in the driver roster, joined by Ben and Michael Kavich.
Ben expressed, “Race For A Cure has always come from a heartfelt place.”
“What began as a personal journey for our family has evolved into a platform that allows us to make a significant impact and strive for improved outcomes for those combating breast cancer.”
“The Bathurst 6 Hour is one of the premier events in Australian motorsport, providing a unique chance to highlight this critical cause, mobilise support, and maintain our momentum.”
“There’s a true synergy between racing and small business. Both require tenacity, resilience, and a support network that believes in your mission. This is why this partnership feels authentic. We’re proud to have Thryv by our side once more.”
“We’re also eager about the upcoming developments with Thryv, including significant announcements in the near future, so keep an eye out.”
This event signifies a pivotal moment for fundraising and awareness, fostering support for Breast Cancer Trials, while carrying one family’s deeply personal mission onto one of Australia’s grandest stages in motorsport.
After Toula Kavich received a breast cancer diagnosis following the 2016 Bathurst 6 Hour, the Kavich family made a pivotal decision that transformed their engagement in the sport, leading to the inception of Race For A Cure.
Ben and Michael channeled their love for racing into a purpose-driven initiative, establishing a fundraising movement that has already amassed over $266,000 for Breast Cancer Trials.
For Toula, the 2026 Bathurst experience is laden with emotion, even a decade after the diagnosis that altered her family’s path.
“When I was diagnosed with breast cancer ten years ago, it was one of the most challenging times for our family,” Toula recalled.
“That’s why this means so much to me. To witness something so personal evolve into a platform that benefits others and aids vital research is immensely powerful.”
“I am incredibly proud of what Ben and Michael have created through Race For A Cure, and I’m thankful to everyone who has supported it. It’s profoundly emotional to see something so challenging give rise to something meaningful and enduring.”
Thomas, who has faced his own battle with cancer, brings both high-level racing expertise and a personal connection to the Race For A Cure mission.
Randle’s involvement adds a deeply significant layer to the initiative as it takes the spotlight in the world of Australian motorsport.
Elise Balsillie, Head of Thryv Australia and New Zealand, pointed out that small business owners understand what it means to thrive under pressure.
“They make quick decisions, adapt swiftly, support their teams, and continually show up with purpose,” Balsillie explained.
“That same determination is evident in endurance racing, which is a cornerstone of why this partnership resonates so deeply.”
“Ben, Michael, and Toula have developed something incredibly impactful through Race For A Cure. They have transformed a personal experience into action, awareness, and substantial fundraising efforts. We’re proud to support them and amplify their mission.”
This year’s Bathurst 6 Hour promises to be a significant Easter weekend for Team Thryv | Race For A Cure, as the campaign gears up to enhance visibility for its cause and encourage ongoing support beyond the race weekend.
