Australia is set to unveil a revamped squad for the Champions Trophy, necessitating four substitutions due to injuries and a retirement.
The latest casualties are Josh Hazlewood and Pat Cummins, both sidelined because of injuries.
This update coincided with Marcus Stoinis’s announcement regarding his retirement from One Day International (ODI) cricket.
Mitchell Marsh has also been ruled out recently due to an ongoing back issue.

“Sadly, Pat, Josh, and Mitch are all dealing with lingering injuries and haven’t recovered in time for the Champions Trophy,” stated George Bailey, Australia’s chairman of selectors.
“While this is disappointing, it opens up a fantastic opportunity for other players to step up and showcase their abilities on the world stage.”
Australia will play two one-day internationals against Sri Lanka following the conclusion of the Test series, with Sean Abbott, Tanveer Sangha, Cooper Connolly, Spencer Johnson, Jake Fraser-McGurk, and Ben Dwarshuis joining the squad.
The final squad for the Champions Trophy will be announced on February 12.
With Cummins unavailable, Australia will need to appoint a new captain, with Andrew McDonald confirming that Steve Smith and Travis Head are the leading candidates.
