As the regular season concludes with a thrilling finish, the fixtures for the Ninja A-League 2026 Finals Series have been confirmed, paving the way for the top six teams in their quest for Championship glory.
Making history, Melbourne City has captured their third consecutive Premier’s Plate in the second-to-last match of the season, securing them a week off and a two-legged Semi-Final against the lowest-placed Elimination Final winner.
Joining them in the Semi-Finals is Wellington Phoenix, who has achieved their highest-ever finish in the Ninja A-League, setting up a clash with the highest-placed Elimination Final winner in the other two-legged Semi-Final.
The opening week of the Ninja A-League 2026 Finals Series will feature two high-stakes Elimination Finals. Canberra United, qualifying for their first Finals Series in five years, will host Melbourne Victory in the first Elimination Final on Saturday, 25 April, at McKellar Park. Victory secured their spot, jumping above the Mariners into sixth place with a narrow 1-0 away victory over Perth Glory in the final round.
The second Elimination Final will see Brisbane Roar face off against Adelaide United on Saturday, 25 April, at Spencer Park. The Roar clinched fourth position after edging out Canberra United 2-1, with Matildas’ goalkeeper Chloe Lincoln making a crucial penalty save in injury time to secure the win and a home Final.
A-Leagues CEO, Steve Rosich, stated: “This season of the Ninja A-League has been one of the most competitive in the history of the competition, with three of the top six positions changing in the final round of the regular season.”
“It sets the stage for an exciting Finals Series across Australia and New Zealand, with five teams hailing from four different states, including Wellington, who are competing in their first-ever Finals Series, all vying for Championship glory.”

“With family-friendly kick-off times and suitable stadiums, we encourage all football enthusiasts to come out and witness this international talent on display, or tune in to watch one match live and free each weekend during the Finals Series on 10 Drama.”
The two-legged Semi-Finals will take place over the first and second weekends of May, with the top two teams hosting the return leg. The highest-ranked team from the regular season to reach the Grand Final will have the honour of hosting the 2026 Ninja A-League Grand Final, scheduled for the weekend of 16-17 May.
