Tottenham’s season has been marred by significant knee injuries, as the club has experienced more of these setbacks than home victories in the Premier League.
Tottenham Hotspur find themselves in one of the most challenging seasons in their recent memory, largely due to a disturbing wave of knee injuries.
The most recent casualty is Xavi Simons, who suffered an anterior cruciate ligament rupture on 25 April during a match against Wolves, adding to the team’s ongoing on-field difficulties.
This unfortunate trend is far from rare. Wilson Odobert incurred the same injury on 10 February, while Radu Dragusin was also knocked out with an ACL tear in late December 2025.
Both James Maddison, who suffered an injury on 2 May 2025, and Cristian Romero, who has been out since 12 April with a knee concern expected to keep him sidelined until June, are part of this growing injury list.
In addition, Dejan Kulusevski has been grappling with a severe knee injury since 11 May 2025, with his return not anticipated until May 2026.
This dire situation reveals a grim reality: Tottenham have encountered more instances of knee injuries than home wins in this Premier League season. Spurs have only managed two victories at their home ground—first against Burnley (3-0) on the opening day, 16 August 2025, and the second on matchday 15, defeating Brentford (2-0) on 6 December. In 2026, the squad is still seeking their first league win on home turf.
Beyond the knee injuries, the treatment room continues to be busy with various other injuries. Pape Matar Sarr is coping with a shoulder issue, Ben Davies is hindered by an ankle problem, Mohammed Kudus is dealing with a thigh strain, Destiny Udogie has a muscle injury, and Guglielmo Vicario has recently undergone hernia surgery.
