
Melbourne City’s Head Coach Michael Matricciani has been recognised as the Coach of the Month for the Ninja A-League for March/April.
This marks the fifth time this season that Matricciani has received such an accolade, having guided his team to a remarkable third consecutive Ninja A-League Premiership. During the voting period, his team secured three victories out of their last four matches in the regular season.
Remaining unbeaten in rounds 19-22, Matricciani’s side held on to their position at the summit of the Ninja A-League, achieving three wins alongside a draw, adding yet another trophy to their cabinet.

Matricciani was selected for the March/April accolade through Football Coaches Australia’s nomination process.

In partnership with the FCA since the 2022-23 season, the Australian Professional Leagues (APL) aims to honour exceptional coaching talent within both the Ninja A-League and Isuzu UTE A-League.
The FCA has formed a knowledgeable panel tasked with determining the monthly nominees and winners for the Coach of the Month title in both leagues.
The evaluation period for March/April encompassed rounds 19-22 of the Ninja A-League season, covering matches from March 13 to April 5 that were taken into account by the FCA Panel for the Coach of the Month nominations.
During this timeframe, Matricciani’s club achieved vital victories against Canberra United, Western Sydney Wanderers, and Newcastle Jets, while also securing a draw against Adelaide United.
