Mykhailo Mudryk has faced disciplinary action from the English Football Association (FA) in connection with a doping issue, resulting in a four-year ban for the Ukrainian international.
The incident occurred on December 17, 2024, when Mudryk was provisionally suspended after an anti-doping test indicated the presence of the prohibited substance meldonium.
On June 18, 2025, the FA handed down an official charge to the player. After nearly 18 months since the test was conducted, the ruling was finalised, imposing the maximum penalty of a four-year suspension on Mudryk.
Reports suggest that he intends to challenge this ruling at the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).
The 25-year-old winger has not featured for Chelsea since November 28, 2024, when he found the back of the net in a UEFA Europa Conference League clash, shortly before his provisional suspension took effect.
Chelsea acquired Mudryk from Shakhtar Donetsk in 2023 for a fee potentially rising to £88 million, securing his services with a contract that runs until 2030, along with an option for an additional year.
As of now, neither Chelsea nor Mudryk’s representatives have issued any formal statements regarding the sanction, and the FA has not provided any further public updates.
