Brøndby is set to roll out new turnstiles in their fan zone to bolster security measures during home matches.
Following a history of crowd-related incidents and security lapses, highlighted by the recent home clash against FC Copenhagen where masked troublemakers targeted the away supporters with fireworks, Brøndby has taken decisive action.
The club has installed state-of-the-art turnstiles, marking the first implementation of this technology in Denmark, at the fan zone of Brøndby Stadium with the objective of enhancing safety.
These new turnstiles aim to ensure that only ticket holders gain entry to Brøndby Stadium.
“The upgraded turnstiles will help curtail so-called gatecrashing – attempts to force entry or circumvent the entrance without a valid ticket – and will also aid in employing facial recognition technology to identify individuals who are banned,” commented Ronnie Kesby, Head of Security at Brøndby IF, on the club’s website.
“Moreover, the new turnstiles will guarantee that all tickets are accurately scanned upon entry, which is essential for fans to record their attendance and collect points in the Fanscore system.”
Brøndby urges supporters to arrive earlier for home matches, as the process through the new turnstiles may take a bit more time. This upgrade will debut when Brøndby takes on AGF in the Danish Superliga on Sunday.
