Benjamin Pavard has expressed that Inter Milan can achieve whatever they set their sights on after the French defender played a crucial role in propelling the Italians into the semi-finals of the Champions League.
Inter will go up against Barcelona in the final four, largely thanks to Pavard’s powerful header in the 61st minute during a rain-soaked evening at San Siro.
Pavard’s goal ensured that Inter advanced with a 4-3 aggregate victory, keeping their aspirations alive for a treble comprising the Serie A, Champions League, and Italian Cup.
“We aren’t placing any limits on how far we can progress. We have a fantastic squad filled with talented players and an excellent coaching staff,” Pavard commented.
“There are no boundaries; we aim to win and continue advancing.“
Pavard’s exhausted compatriot, Marcus Thuram, admitted that the entire Inter squad felt “a bit spent” at the final whistle after an exhilarating night of football amidst the drenching rain and gusty conditions in Milan.
Thomas Muller conveyed his disappointment on behalf of himself and his Bayern teammates for missing out on playing the final in their home stadium in Munich, having failed to overcome Inter at San Siro.
“I gave my all, and we all did. We were up against the best team in Italy, who had conceded only two goals in the Champions League prior to facing us,” Muller told DAZN.
“I witnessed players who fought relentlessly on the pitch, demonstrating tremendous energy… The supporters saw we left everything out there. It’s disappointing for us since the final was set for Munich, but the Champions League is no walk in the park.“
