The current Isuzu UTE A-League Premiers, Auckland FC, face a significant setback with multiple injuries ahead of their upcoming match against Melbourne Victory this weekend.
After a 1-1 draw with Adelaide United last Friday, Steve Corica’s squad will be missing injured players Guillermo May, Michael Woud, and Jake Brimmer for their Round 24 encounter at Go Media Stadium.
Michael Woud was initially set to start against Adelaide at Coopers Stadium but had to withdraw due to a groin issue he sustained during warm-ups. Scans have now revealed he could be out of action for up to three weeks.
Additionally, the club is anxiously awaiting news on midfielder Jake Brimmer, who has been hindered by a calf injury. He was unable to make the trip to South Australia after getting injured in training, and the club is currently waiting for scan results to determine how long he will be sidelined.
In further news, striker Guillermo May will also be absent for the clash against Victory due to a concussion sustained during Friday’s match against Adelaide. The APL’s concussion stand-down policy will see him miss play and training for the following eight days.
